18X24 Oil on canvas

This is the final version of End Of The Gorge.
This painting was as much about the different rock formations and textures as it was the waters texture and reflections. Still water is a mirror of its surroundings; therefore it is an enjoyable challenge capturing all the mirror textures and hues.

The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph, by the same title, from Kayasailor’s beautiful gallery. [link]

Totally incredible.The stillness is profound like you want to hold your breath so you don't cause a ripple.The reflections are amazing.Love the texture and colors of the rocks and crevices.Great lighting and colors in the trees and background,awesome depth.Gorgeous!

I love the background and the water. it looks really amazing. but I think there is still missing some detail in the front. is it possible to add something to the rocks, so that it'd look more detailed?
