This painting was mainly about the color harmony between the warm hues in the background, and the cool hues breaking from the sky above the horizon. I wanted to establish the mood of this painting mainly through the warm hues found in the background trees and the reflections on the water. To help maintain the warm mood, I also made the blues warmer. A wanted the warmth of the sun light to be the factor that drew the viewers attention to the painting. I am pretty much pleased with the end result.
The inspiration for this painting came from the beautiful photograph from Lillyxandra-xs [link] Gallery.
I study your work closely to learn about color. This, of course, is just beautiful and certainly evokes not only an appreciation of your sharp eye, but of nature itself. Thanks for sharing, will take these mental notes into my current project.
I love the finished work! The colors are beautiful!

It came out great Lots of bright colors. I thought the back was going to be cattail rushes, the trees are so much better. The water is just wonderfully fluid looking.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
