I find DeviantArt to be a wonderful community of artistic people to share their artwork, photographs and arts and crafts. Yet I have seen a few deviants using this community sight to express their hate against subjects (religion, homosesuals, lesbians
) that have nothing to do with what this art community site is about. Furthermore, some of these opinions are expressed in an ignorant way, therefore making dA a hostile environment for some people.
In the past year that I have been part of this site, I have chosen to ignore most of the deviations of this nature that Ive come across. I have also remove and blocked deviants whom have chosen to upload hate or negative art. But a few days ago I came across a page that quoted everything that a deviant had posted on her page. They had screen shots of her comments, and quotes from her page. Being that this deviant was not too bright on the subject she chose to debate on, the people who uploaded this page had a blast with the materials they copied from her page
This brought up a few concerns. It is scary that you can google some ones screen name and find their dA comments and quotes for anyone to view. The fact that people can use these materials to build a page on another site, and add their opinions concerns me.
We need to be smart about the things we write on any site on the Internet. Everything we choose to write or upload is public. And can end up elsewhere.
Here is the link to the page I found.
